My process

I have a simple four step process that I follow with all of my clients. There is an initial consultation then I develop a content strategy for your business. I design and develop the website and then finally I deploy and deliver a fully functioning website for you to use.

Consultation

During the consultation I will meet with you to discuss your business’ needs, and what hopes and goals you have for the future of your business. We will also discuss what you like and don’t like about your website, and we will discuss ways to have your website expand and grow your business.

Content strategy

The next step is formulating a content strategy that is right for you and your business. Each business’ needs are different. The content strategy for your specific business will revolve around the information you give to your customers, what services or products you have, and what kinds of things your customers can do on your site (e.g. buy a product, schedule a consultation, sign up for a newsletter, look up information, etc.).

The content strategy will also include plans for how the content will be updated beyond the time that we work together. Will I be helping you continue to update this content over time, or will you want to do that yourself? All these things will be discussed to determine the right strategy for your business.

Design and development

After the content strategy is put together, then I can start to build out the website with all the content and pages that your business needs. After the initial site build, I will get feedback from clients to determine how close the site is to the original project goals.

This is a chance for clients to tell me what they like, what they don’t like, and for me to make any changes prior to the site being deployed. The number of revisions and how long that process takes will vary by customer and what we stipulate in our working agreement.

Deployment and delivery

After all changes are made to the site and you and I both feel the site is ready for your customers, we will work together to get your site published. This includes ensuring that the site is connected to your business’ custom domain.

I will also work with you to get any custom setup completed for security features and any other specific items your site needs to be configured correctly. Once all this is done, you will have a beautiful, fully functional site that meets your business needs.
